First Generation Mobile Phones

A high end portable electronic gadget for the purpose of mobile communication, Mobile Phones have indeed come a long way. From the First Generation Mobile Phones which were the early predecessors of hi tech gadget of today, Mobile Telephony does not remain confined only to communication but is also a great entertaining sport.A product manufactured by Motorola Company, the First Generation Mobile Phones came into vogue first in the United States of America. The man behind this technology was Dr. Martin Cooper who made grand use of the analog digital mode to make voice communication possible

from the First Generation Mobile Phone that he made. Although the year was 1973, it was only after almost a decade from 1983 that First Generation Mobile Phones were given the license to be used commercially in the American market. Also known as the 1G Mobile Phones, these worked with more than one base stations which were closely located.

The technology used in these First Generation Mobile Phones was analog transmission, on which the cellular networks were based. The first model of the First Generation Mobile Phones was taken out by the eminent Motorola Company, and the model was DynaTAC 8000X. It is significant that
apart from a convoluted technology which it adopted, all the First Generation Mobile Phones were too robust and heavy compared to the slim and sleek Mobile models available now.Although the First Generation Mobile Phones were static and were installed permanently in the cars,

it was Motorola which revolutionized the concept and the First Generation Mobile Phones became hand held. The First Generation Mobile Phones comprised of systems like AMPS, TACS, NMT, RTMI, C-Netz etc. Dyna TAC 8000X which was the first 1G model actually is an abbreviation of Dynamic Adaptive Total Area Coverage. Other popular First Generation Mobile Phone Models include 1987 DynaTAC 8500x, 1994 International 3200/3300 (GSM), 1992 America series just to cite some.
